Nocturne, Skellig Michael Lighthouse, Panoramic, Co. KerryThe lighthouse on Skellig Michael sits at the very edge of everything. Two lights were built here in 1826, the upper and lower, to guide vessels through some of the most dangerous waters off the Irish coast. This is the lower light, perched on a rock platform that feels barely wide enough to hold it. The path down to it follows the cliff edge in a way that makes you very aware of the drop.
